LA Digs - Northeast LA Real Estate Blog

Welcome to LA Digs, the real estate and Northeast Los Angeles community blog written by Realtors Tracy King and Keely Myres.

Here, we share tips, market updates, and local news bits to keep you informed on what's happening in Northeast Los Angeles and the surrounding neighborhoods. Read on to learn about the latest in your neighborhood!

Local Event! Building Occidental: The Road to Eagle Rock

5245 La Roda Avenue

We brought 5245 La Roda on the market in August and quickly received multiple offers. Unfortunately, the buyers with the winning bid decided not to move forward, so we brought it back on the market - and received multiple offers AGAIN. Today's real estate market is very interesting, and we are seeing these situations over and over. There just are not enough homes for sale to satisfy all the buyers looking! 5245 La Roda is located in a very desirable Eagle Rock neighborhood, and has many original features, including a Batchelder-style fireplace, refinished hardwood floors, many original windows, formal dining room, and a full bath complete with hexagonal tile, pedestal sink, and built-in vanity. Congratulations to the new homeowners, and welcome to the neighborhood!

Property Details:
Listed for $599,000
Sold for $621,000
3 bedrooms, 2 baths
1,732 sq. ft. on a 8,180 sq. ft. lot
Built in 1922

Put the Fork in Hunger!

Eblast Fork in hunger

If you've driven through Pasadena you may have noticed the giant fork that has gone up at the fork in the road at St John and Pasadena Avenue (right near Huntington Memorial Hospital).  Well, aside from being a funny piece of art, that fork has a purpose! And that purpose is to tell Hunger it is done!

The Fork in the Road has become Pasadena's biggest food drive, and we'd love to have you help us out!  Our office is hosting a food drive event this Thursday, November 10, 4-7pm.  Come by for appetizers on the lawn and donate your non-perishable food items.

Please RSVP to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..  For more information on the Fork in the Road visit www.facebook.com/PutTheForkinHunger.   If you can't make it this Thursday but would like to help, you can drive by the Fork on Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm and drop off your donation.  Or call us and we'd be happy to pick up your donation and take it over!
